For all those love birds who just got engaged I want to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to you both!
What an exciting time in your lives and the neat process of planning there is ahead for you two.
Often, we assume that the Bride-to-be has been dreaming of this very day her whole life, but the truth is, there are many grooms who have too.
Yes, the saying of “Here comes the Bride,” has been used for so many years, but there is some importance to the Groom-to-be as well.
After all, you will be in marriage & walking through life together for the rest of your lives…
Traditionally the Groom-to-be was responsible for arranging his own outfit, the groomsmen and ushers. He also took on the duties of booking the transportation for the day, writing his own speech, sometimes his own vows and the wedding night accommodations.
These days the Groom is not expected on doing anything most of the time and either tagging along or just trusting his future wife to make all these decisions. Everyone is different and does what works for them, there is nothing wrong with that.
May I encourage you to sit with your partner and come up with a strategy of your planning priorities, expectations of each other’s tasks and even picking a Certified Wedding Coordinator together, to support you along the way and sharing his/hers resources and expertise.
